South Pittsburg High School Pedestrian Bridge

South Pittsburg High School Pedestrian Bridge

OLG Services provided design and construction support services to replace the pedestrian bridge at South Pittsburgh High School that had been compromised in 2020 when hit by a large vehicle. An essential piece of architecture for SPHS, the bridge allows students to safely travel from the school to the athletic facilities on the opposite side of the South Cedar Avenue. The Elevator Tower and Lobby were also compromised in the accident and were replaced in 2022 to allow use of the existing school elevator. The new updated pedestrian bridge and stair tower is complemented with an elevator providing ADA access to street and field levels. A new Pirate Crow’s Nest provides a unique observation point to watch the game. The bridge was completed in April of 2023.
